Working at Brill I have had the opportunity to do some pretty amazing things, from working Front of House at the Chado Ralph Rucci show in New York to media days with hair style icons, ORIBE and Ken Paves. However, never have my career highlights been so greatly acknowledged by the men in my life as when I got the news that I would be travelling to NYC to work at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. On a side note; and the women in my life will relate to this thought, Want to know what’s great for the self esteem ? Hanging out with 38 supermodels as they get hair and makeup ready (read : improving on perfection).
Getting an insider’s peek into the most glamorous show in the world, can only be described as surreal even down to our amazing accommodations at the Dream Hotel, which also played host to the show’s after party. The hair and makeup, outfits and sets were all beyond my imagination – sometime’s getting a closer look at something can burst the illusionary bubble, but in this case it only helped me further understand the magnitude of this event. The show itself was amazing, standing in the wings (we all know publicists never sit!) and watching Kanye West perform and then have Jay Z join him ain’t a bad day’s work; but of course the Angels are always the star of the show and this year was no different. Here are some pics from the show:
