A summer trend we’ve been noticing on the streets and in stores this summer has been cool metal studs and spikes making an appearance on typically feminine and flirty clothing items. Fun girly tanks and cool summer blouses have recently been decked out with metal hardware, giving a normally sweet and chic look more of a rocker edge. We particularly love this flowy white blouse from Zara that features gold spikes all around the collar, adding a bit of tough eye candy to a normally boring blouse. Pair it with a cute pair of high waisted shorts, and some ballet flats and you’ve got a fun and different take on a casual office outfit.

These spikes and studs aren’t just reserved for clothing items. Many accessories have featured this bad-boy hardware including purses, belts and handbags. Sam Edelman has taken this trend to a whole new level, completely covering some boyish loafers in spikes and studs, as well as some pumps with killer (literally) spiked heels.

 

Alexander Wang is also a designer who isn’t shy to add some cool hardware to his accessories, featuring several bags with cool studded bottoms, like our personal favorite, the Rocco bag.
